In August, Skyley Networks Inc. (based in Minato-ku Tokyo, with Hidekazu Umeda as representative CEO, capitalized at \63,952,500, hereafter abbreviated to Skyley), a company which develops and sells next-generation wireless network products, will start selling software it has developed in accordance with the ZigBee Smart Energy Profile, which is a formal application profile offered by the ZigBee Alliance (based in the United States), an association established to promote ZigBee and make it well-known among the public.

This software product is an option for the ZigBee PRO SDK series, which is a software development kit released by Skyley in 2008. Skyley offers a support service that helps manufacturers of, for example, electricity meters acquire Smart Energy Profile product authentication from the ZigBee Alliance.

The last few years have seen smart meters, which are used to monitor and control power consumption within a specific area, being rapidly rolled out as part of the smart grid concept. A typical communication standard used for such smart meters is the ZigBee Smart Energy Profile. In offering this product, Skyley is making an active contribution to the environment, power saving, and ecology.
